10/17/2002: "so yeah not so hot"

I am know running 2.4.19-ck9, which is a vanilla 2.4.19 kernel with Con Kolivas's high performance patchset -ck patches availible here. I was really excitied about this patchset because it includes kernel preemtion, pagetable compression and ALSA and XFS. But I have been having some quirks with it. What I mean is on my 300mHz laptop kernel preemtion isn't the hottest thing I've learned, and pagetable compression doesn't really seem to be affecting my swap usage. So I'm going to play around with it, I am still really excited about all the things that are going on in 2.5.x. Gook luck to anyone else.
